From Chaos to Clarity: How Construction Teams Can Start with AI
Last week, I had the chance to speak at AEC Innovate 2025, a great event focused on what's next for construction and design technology. It was an honor to join so many forward-thinking leaders who are tackling the industry’s biggest pain points head-on.
Construction pros aren’t asking “What is AI?” anymore, but “Where do we even begin?”
It’s a fair question. With many tools promising all-in-one solutions, it can feel overwhelming to know where to start. We believe the smarter approach is using the right tool for the right problem.
Here’s what I shared during the session:
You don’t need an all-in-one platform or a total tech overhaul. Start small. Stay focused. And solve one pain point.
If your team is buried in drawing revisions or struggling with manual reviews, that’s your entry point. Start there. Measure the time saved. Then build on it.
Here’s a simple framework we walked through:
Find your time sinks – What are your most tedious tasks?
Pinpoint the friction – Delays, missed updates, back-and-forth with subs.
Test with your own project data – Use a sample set of drawings and specs to see how tools perform on real work.
Assign an internal lead – Someone to own the rollout and feedback.
Integrate into workflows – Make it part of how your team already works.
AI isn’t about replacing your team, but supercharging it. The companies that start now won’t just move faster, they’ll build smarter and catch more before it costs them.
Thanks to the AEC Innovate team for hosting such a future-focused event. Want help figuring out where to begin? We’d love to talk.
